Firefox running slow...

I was thinking Firefox was running slow so i took a speedtest and was barely crawling at 4Mbps. I took this test several times and it is always the same. I use Internet Explorer and it blows the doors at 40Mbps! I have reset FF per its website and my add-ons seem up to date. Anyone have any clue? I am using Win7 on a new pc w/o any known issues. I'm beginning to wonder if MS doesnt put some setting in that you have to disable in order to run a different browser?
thanks! jim

Sometimes when Firefox updates, your add-ons will slow it down. Try shutting down your add-ons, one at a time and see if that is the problem.

What add ons are you using? I would look at those slowing it down first of all.

I stopped using Firefox because of all the problems I had with it, almost as bad as IE. Switched to Chrome and having far fewer issues with speed.
