Logging on & on & on...

I'm guessing it's my 'pooter's fault that I now have to log in when used to be I was just 'here'.
I think we had some issues a while back, DH was afraid of a virus & someone talked him thru some virus protection...seems since then I not only have to log in but continually get the 'you can't do that' message & have to re-log on. Often.
Is this a 'cookie' issue? Of which I know nada?

Patty

What operating system do you have, and what exactly is the "you can't do that" error message?

Uh, this is a DELL, windows, and the 'error' is not really an error, just says 'you can't perform that function' or somthing like that-you 'have to refresh' and log in again.

Sounds to me that the new AV software, if that is what it is , will not set a cookie or just a short time cookie.

There must be a setting in there to allow cookies for certain sites, or just in general.

Without more info it is hard to say.

TG we ask this info for a reason, we need more than Windows (ie which version? 3.1, 98, ME, XP, Vista, W7) and more than "something like...." for the error message or what ever it is. We need the exact message as it makes a BIG difference in what direction we go to fix this. And tell us exactly when it happens and if its at a website, give us the exact web address.

We really will help you, but you've got to help us with the diagnosis by giving us precise info.

I'll have to find out what version of windows we have...it only happens on this site but then I don't 'go' anywhere else, usually.

There's no 'error box' per se-just a message above where I'm trying to post that says 'you don't have authoization to perform that function' or sometimes it will just show a page to log in again, saying I'm not logged in.
I figured it was cookies-I swear I didn't eat 'em.
I'll copy the exact wording next time.

thanks! Patty
