Incomplete printing

I have a LCD monitor (rather cheap one) and when I open Homesteading Today and look at the forum headings and topics the print is comparable to an old typewriter when the ribbon ink is about consumed. I have partial letters or missing segments. This problem occurs all over the screen rather than a particular area. At times I have problems just trying to read the words. If I highlight the word, the print becomes legible. Any ideas as to the source/cause of this problem? TIA

What brand is the monitor? Does it only do this on Home Steading? Your video card COULD be going bad.

Is this a new monitor, or have you had it for a while and it just started happening?

The monitor is a Princeton brand and I have had the monitor for more than a year. I only realized the problem within the last month. I notice the problem more at HT, ebay for example does not exhibit the problem or I have not seen it there.

I've had that problem when viewing some web pages in IE. It seems to be a problem with the way IE renders certain text inside float elements. I've not had the problem on those same pages using Firefox.

Try using Firefox and see if you still have the problem. If not, it is just an IE bug and there is nothing you can do about it, aside from keeping IE updated until they eventually fix it.

I tried the Foxfire and the problem went away. I will make a permanent change over to that browser. Thanks

I'm glad you got your problem fixed! I was afraid it would be something pricey.
