I will be splitting oak mainly. What do you guys think about the 22 ton country tuff brand at Orschlen farm and home with a kohler motor.

That is a Speeco 22 ton re-badged for Orschlen, go to Speeco's website to check it out. Speeco makes that splitter with a Briggs, Kohler or Honda engine. TSC sells the same in red with the briggs under the Husky name and that is what I have. Go the the arboristsite.com or the hearth.com in their firewood forums for plenty of real world reviews. Speeco is famous for there customer service and any warranty work and there is plenty of examples of this on both sites.
I went to TSC site and I see that they have the 22 ton Husky on sale this weekend in their fathers day sale for $899 and that includes the hydraulic oil.
If you buy from TSC check your unit out well for loose bolts, because TSC personal are known not to be the best assemblers.
Speeco is located in CO, but not all their components are American made.

I bought a new splitter this spring. I shopped around and bought the Speeco 22 ton from Fleet Farm. It has split 5 cords of oak so far with few problems. On the big pieces I look at the end and try to run the wedge into an existing crack. The one at TS sounds like a clone of mine at the same price but it includes assembly and hydralic fluid.

L and M supply in Park Rapids has a Speeco 22 ton with a bigger fluid reservior, a larger square tube that the trailer hitch attaches to, assembly, fluids, and a Honda GS motor for $1300 reg price.
