Cleaning air conditioning ducts on a car?

Update:

The smell is completely gone. I've done nothing to the car as far as cleaning the ducts.

It has been hot here, and very dry.

I'll be interested to see if any of the smell returns when rainy season gets here, especially late in the fall.
