The Power Wagon I was thinking about when I saw the Lil Red Express???? My aging memory isn't helping.

I had come across a "Warlock Power Wagon" earlier but it may have been an owner named critter. Much the same as the above Power Wagon.

I liked the 1935 dodge brothers 1 ton my friend had he sold, but i couldnt fit behind the steering gear.... it was awesome looking rig though putterin down the street.

I would have loved to deal a fella out of his 1957 2 ton chevy grain truck, but i was not around when he finally sold his grain farm, i hauled 27,000 pounds of wheat on that truck one afternoon, and very little on the steering axle, but i made it to the elevator.... I dream about that truck and trip every now and again....

I sometimes think i would like to get a Unimog with attachments for it at times, them things can do about anything from haul a load to farm a field if person wanted to... some are more spendy than others though....

And for winter driving, an old restored tucker with snow-tracks would be ideal.... load the dog box on the back, and head off into the back country for the weekend to chase the cats that no one else runs anymore...... awe what a dream truck more used sno-cat dreams and More yet now them there can be workhorse trucks!

Ok so maybe i have different tastes for an IDEAL truck than most folks.... and i still have a soft spot for my first truck i bought, a 1958 F-800 with a 5 speed main and 3 speed brownie with full air.... I was 19 when i bought that one.... and i hauled logs, and hay, and machinery on it.... never did use it for livestock though.

Happy News Year

A "warlock power wagon" would be something someone home brewed. No such factory animal.

There were no Fargo Lil Red Express trucks. I don't think any of the Adult Toy trucks were made in the Fargo name.

You could get a Warlock in 2wd or 4wd, with any motor combination. It was a dress up package for the Utiline bed truck.

The Lil Red was the fastest production vehicle in 78 and 79, but Chrysler cheated and put W2 heads on the trucks used for the magazine tests.

As modern trucks go, I'm driving it- a '96 Ford F 150, straight six, auto, short bed. The last of the breed. For vintage, it would have to be a '40 Ford 1/2 ton.

Yep, either cut, lifted, V8'd, and expensive as all get out, or rusted hulk basket case and even the hulks are kinda rare. By way they go from 66 to 77 with same body and chassis. They just dropped the six around '72. The last couple years they offered disk brakes (rare and expensive) and those are popular but not too hard or expensive to adapt disk brakes off a Chevy pickup (of all things) to earlier year Broncos. Website someplace that shows how and it works well.

I had a '71 Bronco half cab, 200 six and 3 on the tree. One of my favorite vehicles. Drove it until there was more salvaged sheet metal from old appliances patched onto it than original metal. It actually got a real life 21mpg on hiway at 55-60mph. Thats without all the modern electronics and no overdrive.

Today as a dream vehicle I'd like to have a non rusted one, maybe stretched to where it had at least the bed area of a standard small Ranger. And disk brakes, and a healthy 300 six, and a nice heavy duty 5 spd overdrive. Wont happen, good unaltered ones are rare as hens teeth and rather pricey.

Want a low buck one today, you pretty much have to take a Bronco II or Ranger and retrofit axles and drivetrain. I am about finished adapting spare 300 I had for my 3/4 ton and 3spd and dana 20 (from an early Bronco) to my 4wd Ranger. Still will have the light duty Ranger axles so have to go easy on it but only real 4wd use it will have is getting up and down my long rough driveway. If I could find a hulk early Bronco with good axles and frame, would just adapt a Ranger or Bronco II body. Wish I'd kept my old hulk but frame was getting pretty rusty and i was trying to get rid of stuff at time, thinking I would be moving.

HJ,
That 71 you describe is exactly what I've wanted.... Don't care for the V8 and would be happy with the 6. I just want something to get me from here to there and back. I'm no diehard "factory original" either....holes in the dash don't bother me a bit. In fact I'd be more than happy to stick in a modern powertrain and A/C LOL...Oh well, perhaps some day..

If you just like the look and dont care about drivetrain/chassis maybe this is your answer:

Whats your dream truck? - Shop Talk

This guy just grafted an early Bronco grill to a Bronco II. Want a half cab, graft it to a Ranger.....

Far as I know, they've never made the truck I want. I want a truck that will drop down to the ground to ease loading. I want drop sides on the bed. I want pull out ramps under the bed. I want dashboard locking differentials.

Basically, I want a WORK/FARM truck.

A 5 ton 4x4 international, with the DT466 straight 6 diesel, and a 6 speed Eaton manual tranny.

I do, I bought it new as a retirement present to myself. It's a 2001 bright red Silverado, 3/4 ton 4X4, with Duramax/Allison combo, tall shell, bed liner, and running boards. And I love it.

Very comfortable to drive/ride in, good fuel mileage, easily pulls anything I need it to, and sharp looking.

Now, if I can just manage to convince the comptroller of currency around here that my current stock trailer is worn out (it really isn't) and I desperately need a new 16 or 18 foot Featherlite aluminum trailer...............

I've got my dream truck, well it's what I want in a truck. It's a 96 Dodge 4x4, extended cab with a Cummins. I current have 200K miles on it and it runs a good as when it was new. I currently run a WVO with diesel at a rate of 50% #2/45% WVO/5% gas and get 24 mpg. I love it for long trips you can set the cruise move the seat back and recline it a little and I never get sore from sitting in if for long period. When we travel to MT from WA we drive 10 hours nonstop don't even have to stop for fuel.

I think my dream truck would be a 1996 ford F250/F350 with a cummins 12valve and a 5 or 6 speed transmission, big winch bumper and a big aftermarket rear bumper, added leafs all the way around, 33" or 34" tires on black XD rims, and one of those nice headache racks that goes down into bed rails. and duel whip antennas on the rack. and a snorkel would be nice to keep it in clear air on the dirt roads.
