The temperament seems to be getting passed on as well ... they are friendlier as babies and the ones I've kept are a lot quicker to actually want/like extra attention.

Ahhh hes nice and reminds me of our mini rex, they hang their heads out the door looking for "melon rubs" ! Smudge is a get this..."harlequinized broken himilayan". The reason I call him a broken pattern is because of his white feet! If he was a solid he would have the same colour on them as his nose! He came out of a harlequin and I can see some colour on the side of his head.He also appears to have one whiter ear and one with more colour, like harlie. He is a very nice rabbit. While we breed for show here we also come up with some weird pattern /colour crosses. We have had otters that showed harlequin on their bellies. Tort otters are another one, they are very pretty imo. Sometimes they are called Fox as well. Its just that some patterns are co-dominant and the kit can recieve each gene sometimes.I have found Mini rex to be very friendly with people in general although I have come across some that were somewhat nasty. We simply cull out any nasty rabbits although to this point it has been ones we brought in from other lines. I guess we were lucky in that our first buck was extremely friendly and laid back bcause all his offspring have been the same way.

Smudge's dam was a tri color (black/red) and his sire a harlequin so I'm not surprised that he has some color ...

One of the Mini Rex bucks I have is pretty stand-offish, not "wild" but obviously isn't interested in interacting with people. The harlequin buck was the "cuddler" and his offspring seem to be that way as well. Disposition is something I do select for and not just for the "pet breeds".

That's one color I wish I had in my rabbitry, red. Mine are all black, white, blue, and brown.

Update ... starting to get out of the nestbox

Very active babies. What's the phrase ... quick as a bunny? And the "dark" colored one is starting to look rather odd colored, has to be one of the Holland Lop colors. Agouti?
