Molly..Not doing well.

Our german shepherd Molly isn't doing well these last few days. A couple of months ago the vet said he thought she might have been kicked by one of the horses as she had a huge lump on her side. Didn't think it was a tumor. Have had her in and out of vets office over this time and now have found a few more lumps on her..on her neck. She hasn't eaten much food the last 4 days..except chicken breast I made and fed to her and not us. The vet didn't call me back yesterday as I was going to possibly have her put to sleep. She sleeps alot and will still go outside several times a day but will just lay in the snow. Doesn't seem to be in pain..won't take any animal pain meds..So guess I will just wait and see over this weekend. Wish Molly the best. She came to us through a shelter about 8 years ago..so she is about 10 now. She has been a good friend. Spent last night sleeping with her on the floor in her doggie bed. Think the doctor had a wrong diagnosis. (sniff sniff)......

Oh my, I am so sorry. Can you take her to a different vet for another opinion?

Older dogs get benign lumps all the time. If they are not interfering with their function just leave them. A needle aspirate will show if it's just a fatty lump.Which most are. My dog has a gazzillion of them. Time to try a different vet for a second opinion. The lump should not have anything to do with eating. It needs to be tested. Prayers and hugs for you and Molly

It would be a good idea to see another vet.

Thinking of you and Molly. Hugs.

I'm sorry. I second (or third) another opinion. I also would have bloodwork done. Hope she feels better soon.

I'm so sorry! When I could afford it, I've always had second opinions because my vet experience has been horrible over the years. Hope she feels better, and you too!
