Need dosage of Penn G

For a 45-50 lb dog. One of the dogs tore its lip tonight somehow...really should have been stiched, but could not find my suture kit....plus no one to hold it anyhow while I worked. So tried liquid bandage...didn;t hold. Ran to gas station for super glue. It is now holding. I want to give him a shot of antibiotics...can't remember dose. Know the cat is 1 ml.

I had the same question, and was hoping to find it here. Did you use the dosage on the bottle for livestock?

I pray your dog is better soon. I was going to suggest super glue.

Our livestock vet told us that your can't OD them on penni. Whatever they don't need, they would just pee out so I wouldn't worry too much about the cat.

Thanks. I took him in to the vet and had the tear opened, abraded and stiched because I was concerned that when I discovered it, the lower edges near the lip line were already dry with no blood on them- so feared they would not heal together as they would had the wound been fresh. If I would have had a vet available at that time of night, I would not have even glued it, but was stuck until I found a vet to abrade and suture. The vet did a great job, the receptionist was knowledgeable when I talked to her about the anesthetics and noted the ones I wanted used on his paperwork. Cloudy is doing well plus I thought the $105 was very reasonable and he kept him overnight and did not charge me for the stay. So now have a vet again
BTW the cats wound has now healed completely.

Mary, I used the dose from this site: http://www.drugs.com/vet/procaine-penicillin-g-can.html
