Lost a cat today

I know there are a lot of dangers facing my cats here in the country, but this was not one I ever expected.

I came home to find one of my house cats at the top of a power pole. She was grey, so I thought it might be a squirrel until I got closer and saw the distinctive facial markings. When she wasn't waiting at the door this morning, I didn't get to worried as she does that sometimes, but she was not here when I got home at lunch either. It was raining a bit then, so I can't say for sure that I would have noticed something at the top of the pole or not. I had to go into town for a while, and saw her coming home.

Early this morning my power blipped off for no apparent reason. I think that may have been when it happened.

The lineman just showed up and got her down, neighbor stopped and said he saw her early this morning, so it probably did happen when the power when out and I simply did not see her the other times I drove by. That is a good thing, I had things that needed to get done and it would have been very hard knowing this at that time.

I'm going to go get her now, and place her under the trees where a few other of my cats have been laid to rest.

Cathy
