Hoarse dog

My 7 month old 3.5 lb yorkie boy has lost his voice. His girlfriend is in heat (he is not allowed to breed her this year), he is miserable. They have been separated more than usual and he wears protection (a belly pad thing that prevents marking and hanky panky). He has been whining and barking so much more and he is now hoarse.

Should I be concerned? Sometimes he sounds like a seal and others he makes no sound at all.

My dog had a hoarse throat and needed an antibiotic to get rid of it. Vet said it was an infection. You might want to get your little guy checked out to make sure his isn't an infection too.
