Sigh, Marley doesn't love me anymore.

Every store was out of our regular dog food. All of them, so I bought a different formula, but the same brand, large breed instead of active.

Our poor boy is breaking out all over! He was fine for 3 days, then he apparently spent all night in his crate chewing holes in himself! Poor dog looks like he has leprosy! AND, he has yeast infections in both ears now! I'm thinking that's a reaction as well, since it popped up the same time.

Now, between bathing him every other day and rubbing Monistat in his ears constantly, he cringes and leaves the room with his tail tucked every time I smile at him. Not even the fact that I've been emptying our freezer of fish and chicken parts so he isn't eating any more of that food doesn't make up for the fact that I wrestle him into a tub and scrub him. And since he weighs a good 90 lbs, I dread it as much as he does.
Ask me how much of a troll you feel like when a happy, waggy, Golden sees you and cringes out of the room.
DH can give him the next bath.

You need to get the monistat into the ear canal. Use the syringe to squirt it down into the ear and massage the base of the ear to distribute it. Poor boy. Feed the rest of the dog food to the poultry (if you have any) they will love you for it.

I get my finger in there and try to massage it into every little cranny all the way down. He cries the whole time. I really wish I could tell him it's to make him feel better in the long run.

Scooter is fine with the food, so he's getting it. It's Pedigree, so not great stuff, but until now it's been the food that he hasn't had a bad reaction to, he broke out on stuff that was much better quality. He did really well on this for a couple of months, even keeping weight on (he doesn't want to eat enough and will get skinny with a bowl of food in front of him, but this he ate) then...WHAM.

Tonight he is getting slightly freezer-burned salmon that a friend is donating to him. Scooter is insanely jealous. He only gets a little with his kibble. I can't wait till I can feed them both raw all the time.

Poor pup!
My old girl is food allergic too. I left for the summer and came home to a dog whose butt was as bare as a baboon's.
It didn't take long of having her back on her normal food to grow back the fur.
I gave yogurt too in case there was yeast.. maybe that would help your poor cringing boy.
