bump/cyst on nose

I have a 2 yr old lab collie mix that has a blackish blue bump/cyst on top of his nose about the size of a a BB that is sore to touch.

I noticed a few weeks ago he had something black stuck on top of his nose and I yanked it off because I didn't thing it was actually attached and just thought he had something stuck on his nose. Well it was attached and it hurt but did not bleed and just looked like a raw spot after I took it off. Now after a couple of weeks he has it again but I am not really sure it is the exact same spot but I think it is.

Could this be cancer, allergy related, or maybe something that will go away on its own. Also the bum/cyst is very sore because when I try to touch it he pulls away. BTW he has a white nose like most collies but it don't look like it has anything to do with collie nose from the pictures that I have looked at.

Could be any of the above. A picture *might* help. If it's hurting him, I'd take him in to have it looked at/removed if needed.

Could it have been a skin tag that you pulled off?

Sage has a couple of little spots that look a lot like that, but his don't hurt him. In a two year old dog it's unlikely but possible that it could be some sort of skin cancer (especially since he has a white nose). If it continues to hurt him, get it looked at.

Great news what appeared to be a black cyst was just a thick scab and all I did was touch it and it fell off but there is still a small raw bump where it was. I think I know what is causing it though, my dog loves to chase and snap at bees and wasps and I think he is getting stung on the nose . Anyways thanks for all the great input and I will keep a eye on his honker.

BTW anyone know of a way to keep the bees and especially the wasps away because every year they invade us and make homes under my deck and in my barn where I can't get to them.

Also here is the big fella (89 lbs) and my daughter.

labs and dobies are really prone to fatty growths and skin tags.

unless they inhibit bodily functions i was always advised to leave them alone.
