Guide dogs. How do you live with them?

my husband just put in yesterday a application for a guide dog. {three year waiting, but was told if there's a good match he could go to tommorw.

Anyone with any experince? I know me and the kids are supose to leave it alone. but what esle? wish there was a handbook for the families?

I aslo know that we will have all kinds of trouble as this is a fairly rural area and guides aren't really aroudn here much.

My uncle has always had seeing eye dogs. The only time you have to leave them alone is when they are in their harness, working. The rest of the time his is like a family pet. The place you are getting the dog from should give training to your husband and the family.

Where is he getting the dog from? Rochester? They have a full training workshop with recipient. After a day of work, the dog should be left alone to recuperate. Other than that, they are very nice family dogs.
