Jesus Meeting
I sent two ewes to meet Jesus today. They are part of a live Nativity scene at a local church. These two have been doing this for years and they are a hit with the congregation.

Neat - and I bet they're a hit with the congregation but can't we have a photo. Please!
Cheers,

How neat..I admit, the thread title had me alittle confused.
I wish our town did this.

We used to do this in our front yard. We would set up the life-size nativity scene (complete with the shed that Jesus and several others were inside of), and fill it with straw. We always had people slamming on their brakes as they went by as goats, kids, lambs, and even a foal one year (bottle baby) moved their heads while bedded down in the cozy, soft-lit area.
Always tripped people out that the animals in the nativity were real. We got lots of comments on it. People loved it.

We used to have one in the local town until the city decided it didn't want livestock downtown. This is an ag town county seat btw. Every year I enjoy supplying animals for a church in another nearby city. We set up right downtown on the one ways. Everbody seems to know what a sheep is, but amazing that some people don't know what a donkey or cow are.
Cool thing is the people who don't have livestock are very interested in touching them and learning about them. This year a little girl in an Angel outfit was just crazy over my Jersey cow Angel. It was so cute.

I told a friend of mine that I sent a couple of sheep to meet Jesus and his eyes got real big thinking I'd sent them off to freezer camp. (It was my intention to phrase is like that as a joke.) He was actually hoping to get a few chops to sample.LOL!
They don't go to my church for the nativity scene. I'll ask the folks to take a picture to send me. I've not had a chance to see it myself. I said it was local, but it's local 15 miles away.

We supplied sheep this year for one of those at a local church. My wife and I had a dinner party to go to so our girls were in charge of it all. They did a great job, but when we drove by to check on them, we found out that someone else also just got some sheep and brought them as well. Now, my sheep were in their own pen, but I would have not brought mine if i had known other sheep were going to be there. I don't need to bring home any diseases to my flock, just so a church crowd gets to see my sheep. If we send our sheep again, I would rather see the program be "open to the public"

Slev,
Most of the Christian churches I know of are "open to the public". All you have to do is walk in, sit down, and participate.

LoL, don't have a cow francismilker, I know that. What I meant was that this event was for members of their parish/church, with horse/wagon rides, etc. It looks like, (and from talking with Wendle) that the program she partisipated in was more "open to the public" type event. Obviously, I don't attend this church that we sent our sheep to, the lady that used to give my kid horse riding lessons called and asked if we would do it. As I said, my wife & I had dinner party plans, but my kids stepped up and said they would do it for Barb, so that made everyone happy. (I just don't need to bring any problems home to my flock, because someone else also had brought their sheep.) alright, go milk your cow now. (I wish I had my cow back to milk, but I sold it to Wendle...) maybe in 7 years when I retire... Merry Christmas to all Christmas folk, Merry X-mas to all of those, and or Happy Holiday greetings to all of those that go for that, and if you're the type of person who just doesn't celebrate anything at this time of year, well, you are really missing out, come up with something.. anything.. and spread some cheer..!
