Selling sheep

My parents have a number of St. Croix sheep that they want to sell this spring - everything from experienced mommas, a couple of rams and several ewe and ram lambs from one month to a year old. They started with four ewe lambs and a ram lamb several years ago and they have multiplied! They are pure St. Croix but not registered. The first ones they got were tagged. The ones born on their farm are not. They worm lambs as needed (maybe once a year) and worm mommas before birth if she needs it. They CDT all lambs. They have never sold any of the lambs and are wondering what tags or tests are required for selling off the farm.

I don't know if "anything is required for my state" but on the rare occasion I did sell a goat a while back....I did nothing but sell it off the farm.

In our area csip tags are required before they are put on the road and if caught without this tag fines could wind up costing you plenty so check with your local gov agency or your vet as they can perty-well steer you in the right direction
