Why didn't anyone tell me?

That lambs were so playful and fun to watch. I have already gotten hours of entertainment watching my new little guy chase the chickens, and bounce around the calfs trying to get them play.

Curtis, that's the best part of having lambs - the entertainment value. Yours would love something to jump up on, like a hay bale. Ours like to play King of the Manure Pile, it's nice and warm on top. Enjoy it now because they outgrow the play silliness soon enough.

Oh, I don't know about outgrowing anything. Our Icelandic ram, Sedro Wooley, is 1 1/2 years, full curl horns, lots of wool, and he leaps with all 4 feet in the air, turns 90 degrees, comes down and does it again! Usually right after he gets his nose swatted for pretending to want to butt me. He doesn't look like he should be able to jump like that, but probably most of his mass is wool.

My ram does that when he sees me with any sort of bucket. Funny to see, but dangerous with the horns.

Cooler weather generally gets the adults frisky and bouncing again.

The lambs...I'm so jealous of all that wondrous energy.

We had a very cute black lamb once that was the best escape artist. For some reason he loved our porch where he would proceed to call for mama.
