How many times a day is need for penicillin

can I get some help on how many times a day to give penicillin to a lamb he has a bump on a leg that is warm so I was told to give him penicillin incase it was broke, it was not an old injury if warm to touch I was told but I am needing to know if you give it once a day or twice

The PenG would be for stress induced infections, I'd give it once a day. The leg will need to be set and braced........... I'm guessing its a rear upper leg? It can be fixed but it needs a vet.

how to use penicillin

Hi Ross
I just got the lamb a few days ago he walks on it ok but there is a knot on the bone the area is all the way around the leg its bigger than above and below,it is located below the knee and above the ankle (hind leg) I put a boughten brace on him per vet advice he is a Shetland about 4 mos old but wasnt told how many times a day to give

how to give penicillin

I feel he should be fine after he gets some penilillin in him for a few days he is so sweet like he has been someones pet or handled alot he just looks at you as if he had something to say and he has been banded

Have you identified exactly what caused the 'bump'? Unless it IS an infection penicillin wont help. Penicillin wont fix a broken leg. Sorry but you havent said just what is wrong with the lamb.
