New rescue bunny

I got a new bunny, seems that his main need is groceries. I'm trying to figure out what he is, he kinda looks New Zealand, but he's really fine-boned. He is MAYBE 7-8 weeks old and maybe 2 pounds.

Could be a starved NZW, people breed them randomly, not following SOP, so some may get thin bones, which wouldn't be terrible, since you want meat, not bones. Some lines grow super slow as well.
But without a pedigree and matching tattoo, it's just a white rabbit.

Oh, I'm pretty sure he was randomly bred, he was originally a flea market bunny. The girl had him "less than a month", living in a 12x19 dog crate, and had run out of feed. He is a sweetheart, though, loves my shoulders and the back of the couch. He is scared of dogs. Oh, he was supposed to be a she, too. Really just wondering if anyone could ID the possible breeding.

I would guess NZW. I'm assuming if he's running around your house your not planning on eating him?

Good luck with your new pet. With some groceries he should be fine.

He doesn't get to run freely, although he is inside at the moment, in semi-quarantine. Kinda funny, because I do eat some of mine, but he has more of a pet like attitude than any of my new zealands and most of my Florida Whites. Trying to decide what to do with him, a pet home with someone else might be best.

Better give him away quick, if that's the plan.
