question about the birds and bees

Is it true that if the doe pees afterwards they wont get PG? She took twice and its was maybe 3 or 4 min before I put her back in her cage and then she peed. Should I put her with him once more? So then I want to know whether the number of times they are together increases the number of kits? I would just as soon have 4 or 5 from the first take (if the second time was neutralized) than to have 10 or 12 because she took three times (the original 2 plus if I put her back again).

I have heard this about peeing also . I have also read that breeding causes a doe to ovalate or release eggs so to increase the number of kits or chances of her takeing a second breeding 2 hours after the first is in order . personal experience for me has been that one good connection produces just as well and if the doe went a few min's before peeing your prabily covered .

If you pee after you breed would you still get pregs? ;3 Would you risk having a kid on the idea that you "might not" be? Just saying. They're mammals just like us and their reproductive systems are very similar in many ways.
I would still re-breed because I find that I get more litters to take if I breed and re-breed within 12 hours.

I would rebreed, because I have heard that 10+ times from reputable breeders/people, and simply because it can make them have larger litters.

I guess the theory is that the... hmm... "fertilizer" doesn't make it very far once she pees, so then she pees it all out and nothing gets far enough to fertilize eggs.

I bred twice in a row, and these are the biggest litters I have ever had.

Peeing should not make a single difference. Urine comes from a different hole than sperm goes in to. The urethral opening on most mammals is actually slightly below on the edge of the vaginal opening in a little lump of tissue for padding. Some fluid might get pushed as the muscles contract to push the urine out but all the sperm that is going to make it in to the uterus does so right away. What comes out is just excess that didn't make the cut. Sperm can't move that far that fast. What is going to make it is what gets shot in to the cervix directly.

Breeding multiple times is debated. Some find it helps and some don't. I never saw larger litters or less failures with rebreeding so I gave it up except in cases where I had a difficult to breed doe who only got covered once or refused the buck completely. Sometimes after being exposed to a buck, put back in their cage to think it over, and then put back with the buck they would change their minds about breeding. Most of my bucks were very strong breeders. Mocha would cover a female accurately a dozen times within 10mins and he would keep going until he was panting and not walking straight if you didn't remove him. My champagne buck was a little lazier than my mini rex bucks but still got the job done in a timely manner with accuracy. The older american sable buck I had was probably the worst breeder. We solved his problem by using a big neutral 8' long cage section that wasn't divided up for use yet.

I'll be honest...I've tested for outcomes on different scenarios with my buns...having heard all of the "ideas" about conception.

I've bred some does 2 times and then the next time bred them only once...the outcome for me: the doe averaged the same litter size-10.

I have not put a doe back in with the buck after urination and I have put a doe back in with a buck after urination...the outcome for me: the doe averaged the same litter size-12..honestly,it seems some of my does...pee after the first breeding to distract the buck(who seems to get distracted and start sniffing it) who then will take longer to remount because he's distracted.

It really depends...sometimes I watch them fall off twice and some bucks are only interested in falling off once(for the amount of time I'm willing to stand there..after all I am a little busy with all my little ones). If I ever am concerned about a doe taking...just for my own piece of mind...I'll make sure she is fell off of twice.

This has just been my experience ..I wanted to "Test" out the different theories...I would test them out if you are curious....to see your own individual outcome

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. I guess I am feeling on the fence today about breeding them at all! I either have 0, 1, 2, or 3 does bred as of this weekend and I'm thinking I am going to ride it out and see in 28 days or so! I really want to breed my favorite (and largest) doe one last time and breed her this time with my largest buck . But she is the one that has glaucoma and is pretty much blind as near as I can tell and I can't decide if it's cruel or not. I think she has had diminished vision for maybe the entire time I've had her. So, I kind of think she is capable of raising them. She hasn't been bred now since I stopped last summer due to the heat.

I agree about the peeing while with the buck distracting him. It's like instant change of focus for him! I got all mad at my buck and one of my doe for having a peeing contest about a year ago when I was trying to breed her. I finally gave up on them ever mating only to find out in 28 days or so that they must have gotten it done between all the peeing!

Never taken peeing into account.

A woman often pee's after sex it does no effect if she gets preggers or not. If it did than it would be a pretty effective birth control meathod....

Either the buck/guy has a high sperm count and they can swim or he doesn't.

I guess it's possible given the anatomy of the reproductive tract.

That's what friends are for, redneckswife, lol

Yeah, definitely looks like it would be possible from the looks of that pic.
