fostering for some one else

what is the general rule about fostering kits to your doe for some one else.
Besides the risk, do you charge for it. Like they do stud service. One of the kits or some thing for your trouble?

foster fee

We only fostered for someone else once or twice.

Did not charge for it because one person was a friend and other person was doing it for a 4H kid.

I suppose one could ask for a kit or for $5 for feed or something.

I guess she doesn't want help after all. She has all the kits (16-17) with one doe.
I wish her luck.

A friend of a friend wanted an orphan kit fostered and it was only after I let her kit in with mine that I got around to asking myself "OMG! What was I thinking?" It was a mutt orphan rabbit from two rabbits who shouldn't have been breeding in the first place and the owner didn't know why the doe had died. I really don't need that sort of thing near my herd. From now on, the automatic answer will be "no". Well, actually, the answer will be, "oh, sorry, I don't have any does feeding kits right now", but essentially, no unknown rabbits visiting the herd.
