my little escape artist...

About a month ago, my black otter rex doe escaped (the cage toppled, I suspect a cat that hangs around our house now, since the cage is lightweight) and I had to take awhile to find her, munching weeds in our garden. The other day when I went out in the afternoon to feed and water the buns, I saw a black thing move from the corner of my eye. Thinking it was one of the free range chickens, I bent down to pet it, but lo and behold, it was my black doe... I was at a friends house and the fam was taking care of the rabbits, apparently they forgot to clip her cage door . She sniffed my hand and I put her back, what a rascal!

I have a few that are good escaping. Some even leave the property but come back for pellets. Now I just let a few of those run loose. If they didn't fight I would have them all loose.

I have one that escaped all the time and he is still loose. He shares the barn with the goats, comes in the feed room in the morning for breakfast and hops around the garden. The dogs seem to realize that he is mine and they leave him alone. He is going in the freezer just as soon as I catch him!
