Anna Had Babies! Finally!! (Pictures!!)
I don't know how many their are yet but i'm also not sure if she's done because she started having them when i woke up, then got out of the nest box to get a drink. We're going out to dinner with some friends at 4 but when we come back i should have pictures! :banana02:
Ok, so Anna had 4 babies, i don't think she's done so i'm going to leave her alone until we get home later. They appear to be black with white bellies, they are big! I'm excited!!

I figured she was going to have at least 6 but they are BIG babies so thats probably why she looked so huge unless she's not done, we'll see.

I swear i still see babies moving in her tummy, could she still have more in there? I picked her up earlier (to take the pics) and she still feels round and kind of firm in her tummy. I'm not picking her up anymore because the last time i reached down to pick her back up and put her in her cage and she bit me!
She's a brat but appears to be a pretty good momma so far, if she keeps it up i'll tolerate the biting as long as its a grumpy pregnant thing, she never tried to bite before so i think it is lol. I'd rather have a grumpy good momma then a sweet horrible one any day.

I guess it's possible she's still contracting... labor in humans induces a hormone that acts like (is?) pitocin to continue the contractions and stop the bleeding.

We have three litters born just this week. Thankfully we have lights on them so they are warm and getting fat.
Good luck with your litter.

Anna is a belgian hare cross, and the daddy is a standard chinchilla i actually just got my hands on 4 mini lops yesterday, they are only about 2 months old though so won't be breeding them for awhile.
I may have a Holland lop doe that i'd consider parting with in a month or two, i haven't decided if she's worth keeping for my purposes yet.
We should keep in touch i should have quite a few mini lop babies as soon as they are capable of breeding.
Do you show or are your rabbits meat rabbits? Or both? lol.
Thanks! they are adorable little fatties lol, checked them today and they are still big and round. Good job momma!

I just sold 6 Mini Lops to 4 h kids. They sold within 3 days.
I'm planning on showing my New Zealands this year. I'd like to show my Mini Lops too.
I'm mainly a breeder right now. I'm trying to get some new color genes into my herd(mini's). My buck made some really great looking kits.
All of my breeders are pets but the kits are fair game LOL!!
Please let me know when you have kits available. We can maybe trade some rabbits to get some new genes a' flowin .
Where are you from in Indiana? I live in Trafalgar.

I'm in Crawfordsville. I used Google maps and it said we are a little over an hour away from each other.
The mini lops i picked up 3 are brown (i'm pretty sure Agouti) and one is brown and white.
My rabbits are meat rabbits, we don't have a lot of shows around here that i know of besides 4H.
I would love to make a trade, I can save a baby for you when they breed. All my babies are "sold" besides what i want to keep for myself, i have friends from work who want to buy whatever i have whenever i have it lol. I'd let you have first pick though since you'll be using them for a purpose besides eating.
 I'm excited now!

Well I already have an broken Chestnut Agouti doe. If you throw any other colors let me know. I also have a broken Blue Chinchilla buck.
These are the kits that I sold a few days ago.
3 Black Chinchilla charlies (went to breeders)
1 broken Agouti
1 broken Chocolate Chinchilla
1 Agouti self.
I might not mind getting about Agouti just depends on the body type really.
Let's keep in touch!!
