Do you mean via airline? I've never had rabbits flown to me before, but I have had dogs flown to me. Cost was $250-$325 depending on airline (Continental was the cheapest, Delta was awful service and the most expensive) and crate size. My sister in law had a cat shipped to her from New York and paid the same price...so I would assume it would be the same for rabbits ??? Though I must say, I personally wouldn't cough up that kind of $$ to fly a rabbit to me.

What breed are you looking at and how far away are they? Perhaps you could join a yahoo group for that breed and see about getting transport set up to maybe meet part way, or at a show or something of that nature? That's how I got my rexs from Louisiana. Setting up transport and pitching in for gas was much easier than paying airline fees & hassles! Probably less stressful on my bunnies as well....

I know some companies use ground shipping for pets in UPS type trucks and the rates are close to airline rates, depending on the distance...

Best Wishes,
Crystal

It also depends on where they are being shipped to and from. To ship them to Hawaii, there is a requirement for a veterinary inspection certificate. To ship them to a different country, there would be another set of permits. Also it depends on the breeder. Some won't ship, others have specific ways they prefer to ship. Ask the breeder which method they prefer to use.

Only two approved methods of shipping for rabbits... private vehicle and by air. Shipping by air is VERY expensive and is at the buyers' expense as are the shipping cages/crates, health certificates, etc. If you are on the mainland, there may be some breeders willing to transport rabbits. Try a google search for "rabbit transport."
