Slow Doe

My doe is slow.......... I have a new nipple system in place and she can't seem to grasp the concept. I will hold the nipple trigger down and let the water come out, but as soon as I stop she can't clue in to do the same. The bevel is facing up (which I think is accurate). Any ideas?

The only thing I can think is to keep a crock or something in the cage, as well. Rabbits are curious, she will probably figure it out. That said, she may never like the nipple.

What did she drink from last? If a double ball bottle, or another kind of bottle, place it close to the nipple. See if she will play with the nipple after using her regular bottle. Sometimes I find that some of my brood does "get it" after they see their kids use it. I have some "special needs" rabbits here who have never grasped the concept of a pig nipple... so good luck.

She was drinking out of a can. I put a different style waterer with a ball. I sont like the cans so maybe this will work. Thanks for the help.

Put a little smear of peanut butter on it.

She will drink from the nipple, but won't activate the trigger to bring more water. I have gone back to the can for her.
