Insulating a metal garage

Ive got my rabbits in a enclosed metal carport garage and i remember it got hot in there last yr this yr i plan on insulating so whats the best type to use? I know in the winter it almost rains in there with the freeze and thaws. So to be sure i need something that will stick to metal and not mold with a decent price tag. What do you guys think? I went to a hardware store and the guy in that department was clueless as to what to use lol.

Try one of the pole barn supplier's. They have a 4' wide roll insulation they use building pole barns. Not sure what the stuff costs.

I wonder if styrofoam sheets would work. They are a bit pricey but you could probably stick them to the metal using adhesive caulk. No mold problems.

contact a "spray-foam" insulation specialist and get a "quote" on what they would charge to do the building. i don't know if you could apply it if the rabbits are already in the building. but the stuff works exceptionally well. (and it will STICK to the metal)

grumpy.

I think doing it by one can at a time would not only be very very messy but expensive as well. The spray foam companies have a big spayer and make way less mess. They are meant for large areas.

If having company come in is not an option then i would go styrafoam, if cut properly it will fit snug between beam/rafters (no glueing needed) and you just tape the seams.

a piece of cardboard
I wouldn't do that. Cardboard won't hold up over time.
Get a professional estimate for the spray on foam

Ok i looked up the Styrofoam sheets they are expensive but if they will get the job done right thats all that matters. I think the spray on will be to much and im sure ill have to move my rabbits but i will call Monday and find out to be sure. It will be August before i will have extra cash do to the lovely extra high electric bill and the internet bill. Then i got to start buying school supply's. Hope all the does are bred because they need to pay there way at the moment if they want a cooler barn.
