need toy ideas

what do you give your rabbits to play with? I need an idea. mine dump their bowls, rip off their hay racks, dig in their food. I am sure its because they are bored. what can I give them? (it needs to be cheap, I have 40 holes currently)

I raised ARBA show rabbits , Dutch & Light Grey Flemish ..and found a small tree branch,,,& a alium pop can with a few small stones in it,,taped shut with the pull tab removed,,,kept them happy for hrs,,,,but watch the bigger breeds will bit the can,,and could be hurt,,,I had a Grand Champ. Chocolate Dutch buck that would lay on his back & roll that pop.can for hrs at a timeRon

All of Briza & Brody's ideas are good but I think my rabbits favorite toy is an empty tuna can. They all seem to love them, throw them all around.

In my grow out pen's in the warmer months cardboard boxes are the biggest hit, they chew them up over a bit of time but it keeps them happy I think.

Those metal cage balls for cats are great because they are easy for the rabbits to grab in their teeth and fling. If you can't find them cheap enough, maybe just buy a couple and rotate them. I think rotating the toys is a good idea anyway because they may become bored of the same thing after a time.

Don't forget thrift shops and yard sales as a source for cheap manufactured toys - keeping bunny safety in mind, of course.

I once gave our rabbits each a salt lick on a ring fastened to the side of the cage. The doe could have cared less. Our buck ate THE WHOLE lick in a single day! The ring left over gave him hours of enjoyment. He's STILL trying to get that thing off.

I chop up different sizes of chew-safe wood for our bunnies. I try to get several pieces and sizes of wood in each cage. Very cheap... usually I'm cutting up scraps of pine lumber.

I've also tried different types of cans, balls, vitamin bottles, etc.. Didn't care for the vitamin bottles... the rabbits eventually managed to chew through them. So we don't do that anymore.

Someone recently suggested tennis balls... I might give that a try sometime soon.
