Mosquitoes

How well do rabbits tolerate small biting flies like mosquitoes and blackflies? I would imagine their ears are easy prey. Just starting with rabbits and don't know how much they can handle. My property is heavily wooded and the mosquitoes and blackflies can be overwhelming at times. Are some kind of control measures required? Like CO2 emitting traps?

Thanks

Here is a thread about flies and mosquitoes:

It seems that fresh catnip works well against the "skeeters" and people are also saying that a teaspoon of vanilla in a gallon of drinking water helps with flies. Don't know about the "no-see-ums"

Yes, do try the catnip. It is dead easy to grow and I find the mosquitoes leave the rabbitry quickly when I put it in there. I use it to keep flies off me when gardening. We don't have no-see-ums just here, but I think it should help with them too.
