What color do you call this? - Rabbits/RabbitsApril2009002.jpg[/IMG]

I thought when we bought the buck & doe the breeders said they were Californian's. I guess it doesn't matter since they are for our own use & were happy with them anyhow.

It's either an Opal or a Lynx. An Opal is the same as a Chestnut or Agouti, only with the Blue dilution added (makes the tips blue instead of black), and Lynx is the same only the Blue dilution + the Chocolate modification, making Lilac tips.

Was it this one? Looks like an Opal to me, too.

That's the one! Thanks for the help! I am terrible at the picture thing!
It is so pretty! Never seen one like that. Doesn't look anything like the doe or buck.
All my doe's are like typical Californians & the buck is brown I guess you call him.
We'll see how this one grows & I haven't looked at sex, we might have to keep this one.

Opal if is has rings in the fur when you blow into it. Otherwise it looks very similiar to our 2 week old blue tort coloring.

I'm really thinking it's not a tort, because the blue shading would only be on the rump, sides, muzzle, etc.

By brown, do you mean close to the color of a Cottontail or other wild rabbit? There are a lot of very different rabbit colors that can be referred to as brown. Maybe we could get a picture of him too?
