Doe has white discharge

I tried to breed my doe yesterday and she was in no mood to
fool around . Today I checked her her slit color and she has this
white semi solid gunk coming out of her slit (don't know what to call
a rabbits vagina LOL)

What in the world???

It could be syphilis. Rabbit can get it.

Could be a yeast infection. I don't see any reason why a rabbit couldn't get one as easily as a human. I googled rabbit white vaginal discharge and scouted around for a few minutes. Pasteurella was mentioned as a possibility and I also turned up this article.

Hope it turns out to be something totally minor... but you might want to read up a bit.

Thanks...
I read the article..

I can't afford a big vet bill...

so we will see.

I am beginning to think this rabbit deal is
alot of trouble, but I know once I get babies
it will be worth it.

I did have a doe with a discharge (she wouldn't breed while she had it BTW) I think she either had a uterine infection or a bladder infection, I'd say to see if its smelly, but you probably don't want to go there!

I'd give her a round of antibiotics (you can get Pen BP at the feed store and needles/syringes) I get the next smallest needle, not the smallest because the Pen is kinda thick. I gave mine .10cc per pound, Pen BP is given every other day, I'd say about a week should clear her up, it did mine and she's had three litters since then!

For what the Vet will charge you, you can go get the bottle of Pen to have on hand, needles/syringes, and replace the doe if the meds don't work! :O

Thanks beaniemom!!
I will try what you suggested.
I saw your website and wish you were in NC.
I read about silver fox rabbits and they seem like they would be great for meat. Are they tempermental ???

Yep, they're great meat bunnies, really nice dress out. Mine are all very laid back and sweet, I don't keep anything that I have to suit up to handle, LOL (Well, I have a hormonal Opal Rex doe for about another two weeks unless she kindles!)

Are you going to convention in KY in Oct? They'll be lots of SF breeders there I'm sure!
