I have joined the ranks!!!!

The deed is done! Now instead of just an interested party I am a bun owner!!
I got the number of a rabbitry from TSC yesterday and talked with him last night. Wonderful guy.
He was telling me that the buns at TSC were from a fellow rabbiter and they were NZ. So this morning I went bright and early and grabbed the last two..except for the full grown buck.. who is a chocolate.. that I might go back and get.. in fact I probably will.. you know I want a chocolate...on the way to get DS from school ... carp it all. Addiction can set in quick I tell you. Though I do not need another buck so nevermind...
Anyhoo.. one white doe and a black buck about 6 weeks old. It is going to be a cold weekend at night, so right now they are snugged in a cage in the office...I am NOT a softie! No, not me. How dare you say such a thing!
I will move them into the brooder house or the barn on Sunday or so....

Uh-huh. Yeah, I really believe you........ If I recall, you are a victim of Crashyitis, as well. Your heart is no harder than any of ours....

I can proudly say that I have remained Crashyitis free!!! I did walk out of there without a single chick! Of course, they were flavors I wasn't interested in, but still. And I left all the ducklings right where they were. Of course, I don't like waterfowl..so that was easy too.
I do have around 60 chickens and am planning more, but they key word is planning.....however.. after seeing the price of dairy I could be easily struck down with a terminal case of "milk fever" sometime soon. Thank goodness I can' fit a milk cow in the back of my van!!.. but I could easily put in several ND does.. hmmmmmm

There is a small breed of dairy cows now. Saw some at a sale. They would fit in a van. Have put ponies in vans too. So I know they will fit.

Not helpful!!!

Do your rabbits lick you? My doe just spent the past half hour licking me thoroughly or as much as I would let her.. not a licky type of person...
And they are quite thin.. little bones poking through.. anything other than a good balanced diet to fatten them up a bit.. really just get them to a healthy weight?

Mine don't lick me but they do groom each other.
I'd give them pellets and hay free choice, and maybe one of those salt/mineral wheels. They might be licking you to get the salt from your skin.

I'm SO GLAD to see you doing rabbits, chickenista.

Temporary remission. There is no cure.
