need business card ideas
okay-- My 'farm' keeps growing, changing, morphing, etc..
For a business card, I DO want to include on it that I have 'rabbits' available--pet, show, pelt and meat. Should I include that fact? or just state "rabbits and bunnies" or list a couple breeds---
OR
state on the card:
environmentally friendly raised meats, eggs, produce and value-added products.
perhaps a couple different types of cards-- like one for farmer's markets, another for less agriculturally mInded peple....

I'm not sure about the other stuff, but for over here I would include the fact of rabbit for meat as a specific. Most people here, if you say meat products, wouldn't automatically think to ask about rabbit meat. Likewise if you are selling pet/show rabbits they might not like to ask about meat rabbits.
Can you include pictures of waht animals you keep around the edge of the card - sort of a visual clue as to waht you have available?

You could say pet show and meat stock (or brood)
Are you going to sell the meat like for raw feeding? I know sometimes people are weird about stuff... You may want to leave your address off (in case you weren't already) so the AR crazies don't follow you home! :O

well, Beaniemom- you bring up a good point-- I have nothing against letting my less than perfect babies go for any type of 'pet food'
any address printed will be a PO Box--I VALUE my privacy, plus, the PO Box is located 50 miles away from where the buns are actually located!!!

I want the card to be a very light blue in color, with a frosted window type of appearance-- too many 'breeds' to put pics on-- don't want to leave any out!!!
Good enough for one card without grossing out city folk?
Sound good ?

I think I'd try a generic one and offer more information if people ask or you get the sense they won't screech "MURDERER!" and spray you with red paint.
It's funny, here no one bats an eye at eating rabbit (except our snotty city secretary) but go into the nearest real town and hoo boy... don't say a WORD.

I print my own so I can print as many or as few as I need and I print on both sides of the card.
If my cards need changed I have only printed 30 and can change them on a whim.

Similarly-- "Rabbits and Bunnies for Sale" these are usually Amish boys with the Amish version of a lemonade stand ( nightcrawlers, too)-- the rabbits are meat, the bunnies are pets--- however, I did get my MR from an old 4H advisor-- "Rabbits and Bunnies" are on his lawn sign-- he is very open to eating them!!!

Terry, I'd leave out the line
"Other heritage livestock products for sale."
because it doesn't really give any INFO, it just takes up space. The rest of the card is so rabbit-centric, I think folks interested in something else won't notice that line, and rabbit folks won't care.
Or maybe change it so it says something like
~Frosted Acres~

Nubian Goats, Speckled Sussex Chickens, Garden Produce

That'd put the emphasis on rabbits but still be informative and to the point.

I think that's an excellent motto - description of your farm.

"pet, show and meat" I believe would imply that they are breeding quality. I would perhaps leave ''breeding quality out". I did however, like the idea of 'Rabbits and Bunnies" but that may be too vague.
As someone suggested earlier, depending upon how it was displayed on the card, the other farm animals may go unnoticed. If rabbits are what you have a demand for - and want to focus on I would make separate business cards just for the rabbits. And make a generic card for the farm that has all the produce and animals listed.

Don't forget that a card has two sides. I see lots of cards with both sides used.
You can make one side farm general, and the other side rabbit specific.

You can get VERY inexpensive but nice cards at Vista Print.
http://www.vistaprint.com/
If you noodle around the site, they sometimes have a special where you get the cards for something like $5 plus s/h (and the s/h is very reasonable).

Instead of 'environmentally friendly raised' how about 'responsibly raised' - broader. Friendly to the environment is not necessarily friendly to the rabbit. Responsible covers it all.
I like the idea of provoking the recipient of the card to ask what else you have available (like the 'other products available - please ask.' - then you can lead them to the products you think they may be interested in, or they won't feel hesitant to ask if you have something they're looking for.

Oh, I LIKE this idea.
And some others with one side farm general, and the other market garden produce.
And some others with one side farm general, and the other side about your goats.
And some others....

I like it!
