? regarding bucks

Do they spray? DD has a buck that for the third time he has shot his putrid pee on me! Honestly I don't know how he does it! But he has done it THREE times. I have insisted he be called Whizzer!

Are they like cats and spray stuff out the back of them to mark their turf? If this is so how in the heck did I become turf? Honestly I hate that little bugger. He is supposed to be a 4 H project that is his ONLY saving grace.

ahh - Yup.

I had no problem at all in my rabbitry until I brought JazzMan my Satin Angora home in April. Dummy me puts him in the cage right beside my buck Dumpling (I know, never name bucks when they are little and cute!). Anyway, now I know where the term "P...ing contest" comes from!!! And it hasn't stopped even though I've moved them as far a part as I can - they know the other one is there! Dirty things! When (if it ever happens) I get my new rabbit building up, there will be consideration made to buck spraying. I will put up urine guard and possibly even hang dividers of some description around buck cages. I used to be able to clean out my rabbitry and have it look pretty darned presentable. Now, there are splash marks on everything, and everywhere - walls, floor, ceiling, and everything in between. GRRR!

Um, Caren, he might be aiming.

My cousin (where I buy my breeding stock) says she has bucks that hates her husband. They are tempted to change one lad's name to "Super-Soaker!!"

This new buck (my snot-headed JazzMan) has a couple of strikes against him, and the spraying certainly isn't gaining him any brownie points.

Our buck sprays and there aren't any other bucks around unless you count the young ones destined for the freezer. I never really knew he sprayed until winter time and then I saw his pee marks in the snow way out past the fence. He pees on the does, too. Poor gals.

The orange pee had me concerned but it's normal. It happens when there's a change in diet or temps or other mild stressor.
