Unhappy Mini Lop Question?

I have a lop and from what I have found on the ARBA he fits the description. However they don't say what the weight should be? I've been told that a mini lop weight is only about 2 1/2 lbs max and I've been told that a mini lop weight is around 6 1/2 lbs. That's a big difference! My lops weight is 6.6 lbs.

I want to breed him but I don't know what to look for can anyone help me?

Thanks

wow, Ive had registered minilops for a long time, and Ive never seen a 4 1/2 pounder. My main harem buck in my ground colony was in the 6 to 8 pound range. he's dead of course. we have one left who's daddy was a grand champion.
this is sammy, the guy I talked about sometime ago that got real sick, well he's an old man, but he also weighs 6-8 pounds I guess. I havent weighed him in years.

Don't have Mini Lops anymore, although I plan on getting some soon.
But mine were also between 6-8 pounds.

Whoever told you Mini's were about 2 1/2 pounds must have been thinking of Hollands which are even smaller than Mini's. I know someone tried telling me thier bunny was a Mini once, and I told them it was a Holland. They kept insisting "NO! It's a miniature lop!" "Yes....its a miniature lop, that is also called a Holland."

Looking in the ARBA guide now... Says Ideal weight is 5lbs 8 oz for senior bucks and 6lbs for senior does (senior meaning six months of age and over).

Hi Rabbit Girl,
you're getting mini lops and holland lops mixed up. Hollands are smaller, I believe they're 2.5 to 3.5 lbs. (I dont have the standards of arba handy, but my kid showed them for a while) Hollands are the smallest of the lops.

In the UK there is a Dwarf lop. Picture a ND pose with a crown and smaller lopped ears and you have a Dwarf lop. Odd looking. Not as stocky as hollands are.

If you are newer to rabbits, do yourself a favor and stay clear of hollands.I've bred and shown for a long time and I did Hollands for abou2 years. Tough competition and some of the nastiest people I've ever encountered. They are the only breeders I've ever seen argue with the judge about his placings when their rabbit didn't win it's class.

Uh, guys, S Rabbit Girl said her lop weighed 6.6 lbs.
That's one big Holland! (not that it couldn't happen, especially if it was a cross, but...)
