mobile coop plans for 50 hens
I have googled and seen tons and tons of plans, but haven't found anything that is mobile and is good for easy egg collection, easy clean out, and for 50 chooks.
Does any one have a good plan they would like to share?
ETA - I have an old boat trailer that I'm going to build the coop on to make it mobile.

Most on here know I have one that I keep about 20/25 chickens in----would hold a few more but 50 would be to many. I use the farm tractor to move it-------not that its that hard to move but I use the lift on the tractor to lift it to move. I can show you pictures if you have not seen it.

That's my plan that I'll use the tractor to pull it around the orchard. Would love to see pix, please.
I've seen what Salatin has, but those are for a few hundred birds. I could scale it down, but was hoping I could find a plan to work from.

Because of Hawks and preditors I can not free range---so I built this "tractor" so they could get some movement around the farm. I designed it so I could lift the whole yard and move it. It takes 2 minutes by myself to move it once I pull up/back the tractor to it. I can hook the rear lift or the frontend loader to it.

I'm building one now using a mini 1 ton running gear to build a small hay wagon. On top of this is a 5'x8'x6'h coop with 6 8' roosts and 10 nesting boxes (hanging over the side), and an automatic door timer. I will be able to pull by hand if necessary or easily with ATV/UTV/tractor. It should fit 40 comfortably...50 in a pinch.

Fire-Man's coop is awesome! There is a lady in CO Springs that built hers INSIDE a van. So she just turns on the van and moves it. Pretty awesome.
I will say big enough for 50 would be hard. I'd consider maybe making a few smaller ones instead.

Gravytrain, I like it---I wish I could allow mine outside of a fence---but without standing guard I can not. From the Looks of one of your pictures you could get you a piece of a old tarp to use as a "splash shield" LOL. It saves the mess on your wall and are cheap to replace every couple years.

Good idea on the splash guard.
The hawks and 'yotes are lurking, but I've got a leg up on them for the most part. When a hawk is spotted, they all high-tail it under the wagon or in the coop. The roosters keep a keen eye on the sky. I did lose two birds on my farthest pastures to yotes right at dusk....the neighbor said they climbed right in the coop. After that I adjusted the close time of my automatic door and haven't had a problem since.

Glad to help. Here's the trailer I used to build my wagon:

BTW, I made the wagon first so I could use it for other things. Two men can remove the coop from the wagon. With a 2200# capacity, I can throw a couple round bales on it, or haul wood, etc.

Very Nice!!
No worries about weasels and/or coons?...or is that what the hot wire is for? Does the hot wire run off the solar also?

Nothing can get into the coop when the door is shut. Other than my perimeter/divider fences there is no hot wire...and the hot fence isn't going to stop a coon or weasel.
I've found that as long as the coop is only within a paddock or two width away from the cows, the larger predators keep away. The time that the coyotes hopped inside the coop right at dusk, was the same day I moved the cows 1/2 mile away to a different pasture. I doubt there is anything more terrifying to a coon, possum, fox or coyote than a enraged momma cow. I do have predator nite eyes on each side of the wagon as an added deterrent.

The solar panel is to power the 12V battery for the door only...although if I find another need for 12V power I can power it up from the same battery.

Coon or weasel could get thru that chicken wire.
...but with the bovine populated wide open pasture setting it's probably not an issue.
Asked about hot wire as I see a roll of what looks like it might be hot wire and some stakes there in one of the pics.

They'd have to shimmy up a vertical wall or jump 7' to reach it, but I suppose that isn't out of the realm of possibility.
The roll of polywire and pigtails are just leaning on the wagon for when I put up the next paddock for the cattle. Sorry, I was confused why you asked that, but it makes perfect sense now.

No, but I could help with more information and dimensions. They are easy to assemble. My 13 year old son put these together.
I imagine I could sketch a quick set.
