Predator protection idea
So I had this idea the other night... haven't got it hooked up yet, but it's simple nd low cost, so if it works it will be a wonder to behold!
Motion lights outside our brn are not my favorite thing- they're bright nd predictable, and predators only seem to be afraid of them until they get used ot them. However, the RADIO is not predictable, or as much of disturbance to my sleep. I'm going to make myself a motion-detector radio for the chicken coop!
Then when someone sneaks up in the night and passes the motion beam, instead of a simple and not-so-threatening light there will be voices and noise and music. The radio will stay on for a few minutes, just like a light, but since it could be commercials, or a DJ or a song it will always be changing. And I think human voices will be more of deterrent than a floodlight, plus it will be less obnoxious and my rooster won't wake up and think that it's morning nd begin crowing at 2am. PLUS! The radio draws less electric than a floodlight.
What do you think? Will it work?
