Predator protection idea

So I had this idea the other night... haven't got it hooked up yet, but it's simple nd low cost, so if it works it will be a wonder to behold!

Motion lights outside our brn are not my favorite thing- they're bright nd predictable, and predators only seem to be afraid of them until they get used ot them. However, the RADIO is not predictable, or as much of disturbance to my sleep. I'm going to make myself a motion-detector radio for the chicken coop!

Then when someone sneaks up in the night and passes the motion beam, instead of a simple and not-so-threatening light there will be voices and noise and music. The radio will stay on for a few minutes, just like a light, but since it could be commercials, or a DJ or a song it will always be changing. And I think human voices will be more of deterrent than a floodlight, plus it will be less obnoxious and my rooster won't wake up and think that it's morning nd begin crowing at 2am. PLUS! The radio draws less electric than a floodlight.
What do you think? Will it work?

I think it's a great idea. A person could also hook up a recording of dogs barking.

It should work.
I used the same thing as perimeter warning device.
No light, just a motion sensor with a radio that came on inside the house.
I knew they were there before the predator knew that I knew.

adding a radio to a light even if its a lower watage than a sot light will even be better .but this is a good idea that iv seen in use with the barking dog recording in the city storage -junk yard; it gets the attention of the real dog sleeing under th porch and gets him on the job and the varmits 2 or 4 legged get into excape mode . my best oultry protecter has been a good mt. cur farm dog proven by way to many chickens roosting in the trees on my backwoods farm .

Instead of a radio, use an mp3 player. Alternate Rock, Country, Classical, Cartoon Themes and intersperse a few gun blasts and barking dogs

Radio in Coop

Radio is a great idea and I have found leaving my old radio in the coop and it plays 24-7. I keep it on the talk radio station so it appears people are talking in the coop and thus has kept my girls safe. I also leave a small light on so they can see if need be.
