Can chickens vomit?

Last week my brother and his fiance came up to my house to help me out with a couple of projects here and they brought their dog with them, she's a poodle/dachound (sp?) mix. While I was out in the growout coop feeding the six roosters that are waiting for the freezer camp bus the dog came running around the corner of the house. Well... the roosters freaked out, a couple flying right up to the top cage wire (it's completely enclosed), one flew across my face nearly knocking my glasses off, lol! Anyway, after that I found what looked like a wet granola bar, grains packed together with other stuff, sitting on a ledge about halfway up the enclosure. It looked like something that would come out of a chicken's gullet. Which brings me to my question: can chickens vomit?

They can regurgitate from their crop. I don't think they can vomit in the sense that mammals do.

I see. I just wondered if they got so freaked out that one threw up. They had never seen a dog before and really had a bad scare. Their reaction scared me too!

Wow, never had that happen before! To my chickens, I mean. I wonder if it is a way to lighten the load when escaping from a predator.
