Sulmet

Has anyone used Sulmet in their chicken flock? If so, how long must you wait before eating eggs (human consumption)? It's difficult to determine from the bottle. At least for me it is.

Also, has anyone ever given it to just one hen? I'd like to know proportions for a small amount in water.

Thanks.

I've used Sulmet quite often in the chickens drinking water. The dose is on the bottle. I believe it's something like a teaspoon to a quart...maybe a gallon...check the label. Honestly, I sometimes just add a splash to automatic waterer, so it's constantly getting diluted. I only do this if I start to see too much bloody poop. Seems to help rapidly. The withdrawal is about 5 days. I've eaten the eggs without waiting and never had any problems, but I don't recommend eating them. Usually I feed them back to the chickens.
