Wow, what a comb on that last fella! Do they domesticate their chickens, or do they all run loose as "village property?"
Looks like the first roo was banded. Does that make him special property or something?

Love the ox yoke. Almost looks like it was grown for that ox.

Oooh! I love the Philippines. Been there a couple of times myself. It so funny how they tie roosters up on a leash and have them everywhere. They don't seem particularly mean (like for fighting). Which province did you go in PHI? It looks fairly clean so I am thinking its more remote (from Manila) than Batangas or Taal.

yes the one on a leash is a Stag, they are for Cock fights, that is their national passtime, the village lets them all run loose, no coop, they lay eggs wherever and hatch them, that is what i am going to work to solve, given the right set up they would be able to utilize more of their resorces,
we were in the Tarlac province, north of Manila,

I went to the Manila back in the 80's. Quezon City........ loved it....... I remember a snack I ate on the corner of a street called "Balut", it was a fertilized duck egg with a fetus in it........ i also remember a dessert called "hallo hallo" or something that was in a bowl like ice cream with a bunch of toppings. I still have a tagalog to english dictionary laying around here somewhere. I'd love to go back someday.

several more of the native birds at the College farm, they are only letting these natives do what they do with no real contorl study, not even collecting eggs, if i get to come and do my study i will also take these and see what kind of real production you can get from straight native birds,

Really now, you'd think you were travelling back in time seeing the living conditions you saw....but your date on the pictures is 08/14/2145.
The chickens all look interesting, with some blue and green legs in amongst the yellow legged ones. I like the color of the one in the top left in the last picture....cool looking blue! Nice colorful flock there!

yeah idk why the camera date is so off lol, and yes both in condition and genetic type is pretty back in time, the flock at the college is even more varied than than the home flocks as each of the students brought their own to add to the pot, i love the mixed up bloodlines and odd things that show up though,
