2nd Duck Egg Bound!

I just had my 2nd Trout Runner duck die this spring because she was egg bound.
I make sure there is Oyster Shell in their little feeder attached to the inside of their house 24/7 & I feed an egg maker crumble, same food I've been using since I got ducks over 3 years ago.

I don't know if it's something that's genetic or something I'm doing wrong?
I soaked her in real warm water for 20 minutes this morning & I just took another bucket of real warm water down to do it again & she was already gone, I could feel the egg inside.
I give veggie scraps & also they get to free range a few days a week. Always clean water twice a day & they have a kiddie swimming pool. Nothing's changed since we got ducks really so I'm stumped.
I did just get these 2 ducks last September though.

Any suggestions or ideas as to why?

Sometimes this can be a genetic issue and it just happens. I am so sorry for your loss I love my duckies too

These ducks came from the same breeder & the only thing I could think it was related to was genetics also.
I have some trout eggs in my incubator too, I have 1 hen left from a different breeder but I don't know which eggs are from which hen. I hope it doesn't happen anymore.
The 2 that were egg bound were last years hatch from the breeder too. If it happens with any I hatch out I won't get anymore or incubate anymore of their eggs either.

Trial and error is par for the course I'm afraid. Good luck to you and your flock! Hopefully the ones you lost were the only sisters prone to that problem! Egg bind is supposed to be very rare in ducks vs. chickens.
