Kiddie pool repair?

Since the sale of kiddie pools is seasonal, I bought one a couple of months ago and stored it for when my old one needed replacing. As the new one was filling with water this morning, I noticed it was taking longer than usual, and then saw the inch and a half slice/cut where water was leaking out about two inches from the bottom of the pool.

This is a plastic pool sold by Kmart and Walmart. Is there a way to patch the opening? The pool is for geese, and they can get very curious about new things to bite and chew on - like patches. Has anyone successfully repaired such a pool?

I had good luck using duct tape on the outside and inside of the pool. Just replace occasionally as necessary...

Not much really you can do. I tried once, but the geese thought it was a cool underwater challenge. About all it did was entertain them for a while. They're pretty cheap here so I just replace as necessary- but if you were determined - maybe bath calking? I imagine even that would be a challenge.

The feed stores sell the black rubbery watering bowls. Guaranteed not to crack in the winter, etc. We use them for watering bowls. They come in variety of sizes - maybe you could find one pool size. Could be expensive, but you'd only have to buy it once. I've resisted because they're so heavy, I doubted I could turn it to change the water. Have enough trouble with the kiddie pools.

Duct tape was my first thought, but I figured the geese would have it off in no time. Will give it a try. Wish I had noticed the cut when I bought the pool!

I have a huge galvanized pool for them that is about 7' in diameter and 2' deep, but it takes a lot of (well) water, and is a bear to empty. I used it during breeding season, and will again next year.

Try some two-part epoxy?
