I agree with what previous posters have said. All of my birds free range (meaning they have outside time everyday, even if they're in a protected run). I give them fruits, veggies and baked goods only as a treat. Especially baked goods since there isn't much nutrition in most. I don't feed by birds onions, garlic or other spices, just out of personal preference.
I find that when I limit the layers time eating grasses, I get more eggs.
Our meat birds gobble up their regular feed first, so I don't mind them eating all the grasses they want in their tractor.
