Sometimes Too Careful?

We had a banty cochin set and hatch two babies last week. I thought she (and we) needed more, so I drove to hatchery and purchased 5 additional chicks of various breeds for her to mother (this was last Wednesday). This morning - Monday - it's barely over 60 degrees with a steady breeze/wind, and they are outside running around having the time of their lives. When we brood in a box or tub with a light, we're so careful to keep temperatures just right, but I wonder if we sometimes overdo it? They can apparently tolerate much cooler temperatures than we unnaturally provide.

the hen will warm them when needed, now they cant be out in freezing wet weather, but yes they can take some chilly weather, guineas and some of the other more "exotic" chicks cant but normal chickens chicks can just fine

They can tolerate cool temps if they can run to mama and get warmed up. If you have a large enough brooder for a cool area and a warm area, they will do the same. Otherwise you have to watch the temps pretty close.
