Rubber eggs

For the past week I have been getting one egg a day that has no shell. They look just like a regular brown egg until you touch them, then they feel like a water balloon.

If you are feeding them a good diet of calcium, that is layer or oyster shell there is nothing you can do. We had a leather layer and finally caught her out of 40 plus hens. Stew. sorry

Sometimes one will lay a rubber egg or two when first starting or ending a lay cycle. If it continues, you'll want to cull if you figure out "who done it". Frequently the rubber eggs will be dropped while the bird is roosting or running around the yard.
