Head Price

Someone who raises feeders for restaurants has a request for three whole heads for head cheese. Anyone sell heads on here? Thoughts on pricing?

These are pasture raised Berks.

Thanks.

We sell heads for about $3.70/lb. Heads weigh 10 to 25 lbs or so. Can be jowl on or off as well as ears, snout and tough. Split or halves. See: http://smf.me/lit which also shows other oddment pricing in the Oddments section about half way down. Ours are pasture raised Yorkshire, Berkshire, Large Black, Tamworth and crosse lines so comparable.

Make sure to tell them if there's lead in the head.

Captive bolt or electric if keeping the heads. Law.

Absolutely. These are 'turn the corner, bolt to the head" slaughter. Not us, someone who raises feeders for restaurants. I just offered to ask here as I figured Walter and some others would have done this before.

Thanks again.
