That's what we've used for the past 5 years. We've had to constantly fix it where they climb, push, pull & lean on it. And come home to find them waiting patiantly in the middle of the road for us. Or have them knocking on your front door at 6 a.m.  . Go with something else.
I agree the welded wire is more affordable, but really in the long run, it's not worth the hassle.
We actually just put electric up this weekend for my pygmy & 2 kids. At first they did run thru. Until we remembered for calves, we always picketed them close enough that they could touch, but not run thru the fence. They've been in for 5 days with no escapes!! We only ran 2 strands, one about 8 in. & the other about 18 in from the ground. It was pretty afordable to, fencer, wire, & insulators less than $80. It does 3 times the area of the welded wire!
Now if we could just keep our geese from visiting the nieghbors
