Goats don't get the bovine form of pinkeye that is helped along with 200 mg tetrcyclines. Just a FIY from now on choose over the ribs for their subq shots, not in the leg, a much larger area of skin for the shot to absorb.
Using LA200 dropped or sprayed into the eyes, any antibiotic (which is what the tommorrow tubes are) or terramycin eye ointment.... or anything that changes the PH of the eye, vinegar, salt, portwine, lemon juice, all will temporarily keep the problems at bay and will keep secondary infections at bay, but pinkeye must run it's course, stop any of the above treatments and it's still there. The good thing is that usually it's a one time problem in herds. Do keep this written down on the calander, because does who have pinkeye can also abort from mycroplsma or chlymydia which ever the pinkeye was caused from.
A new buck or doe can carry this into the herd, anyone the buck breeds or anyone who is bred after the offending doe will abort, so keep good records so you know what is going on. Vicki
