can lamancha's be bred out of season?

I just bought a lamancha doe, and the seller said that she was bred either for a July or September kidding. The discrepency is due to the fact that she was on vacation in February and the "goat sitter" swares that the doe went in heat then, but the breeder thinks she may have gone into heat in April.

Anyway, I'm confused because I didn't think Lamanchas could be bred in February OR April. But I trusted the seller to know what she was talking about because she is well known and recommended in these parts. (starting to question that too)

So what's the deal? Can a full size goat breed year round in warmer climates like here in Arkansas?

Hmm...well I did have a La Mancha doe cycle in January and she kidded this month (june) with twins.

I have never heard of a La Mancha doe cycling that late but then again the goats won't read the handbooks. So who knows. If she is due in july then she should have a udder by now and I HIGHLY doubt that the doe came in heat in April. But then again weired things have happened.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

We live in Pennslyvania, and we have many Lamanchas. One of ours came into heat and we have put her in with a buck. So hopefully she is bred. That was only like the 22. Most of our Lamanchas have already been into heat. We have Saanens, and Alpines, and Toggenburgs, that have all came into heat within the past two months. So yes, she actually could have been in heat.
Hope this helps!!

Well, it looks like it was an early...like Feb 1st breeding, so that's definitely possible. Plus, the other day I noticed that the doe has long stringy mucous, so I guess she's getting ready to kid soon. The seller said it would be July 1st if not in September.
