My gelding & my buck

My buck roams free with the horses. The all love him and play with him. Yesterday the buck was sleeping in the corral and the horses came in. My gleding saw him and ran toward him and started chasing him. After a minute the buck stumbled. The bad part was that the gelding was right on top of him when he did. When I saw this my heart sank as I knew the gelding would run right over top of him, nothing he could do. Then suddenly the gelding reached down and grabbed the buck with his mouth and pulled him to his feet and pushed him on until he got his footing. Of course the buck ran right out of the corral into the pasture staring dumbfounded. I went to check on him and aside from having lost a chunk of hair, he was fine. The gelding came over and apologized and they are still friends. It was just so strange....he nearly killed him, but ended up saving his life. Animals, go figure.

The gelding's name is Sarge. He actually belongs to my husband. I have a mare and her name is Star.
