I used to raise Nubians and I would often get two "litters" a year from my does. I ran my goats in a free-range herd situation back then and they just bred whenever they wanted. So they gave me two sets of babies each year. These were not heavy milkers, so not much stress was put on their bodies in that regard. People have suggested that LaManchas with their Nubian/Swiss/Earless-breed cross in their original breed origins may also come into heat at unuaual times. I am now raising LaManchas for the first time and am waiting to see if any of that is true.
